Invid Shock Trooper by The-First-Magelord Invid Shock Trooper by The-First-Magelord
Another cool Mecha that I kind of liked was the scarab looking "Invid Shock Trooper." You never got a really decent look at the pilots in the series so here is a closup with a little bit more detail. The Invid are encapsulated from their larval stage and just when they are ready to emerge from their chrysalis and finalize their metamorphosis into an mature adult they are placed inside the desired mecha where they are released into an internal nutrient reservoir and begin to organically interface with the machine that will become a part pf them. They will remain encased within for the remainder of this stage of their evolutionary cycle.

Very cool.  I first saw an invid shock trooper on the cover of a Robotech novel, but even then I thought it looked like an awesome mecha.  I noticed with the exception of the Regis and other human form invid they were always in there mecha.  I always figured it was some kind of evolutionary misstep that to pilot mecha they pretty much had to give up independent movement.

It's very hard to determine which images you draw yourself and which ones you trace. In the case of this image, though, it's easy to know that the Invid Shock Trooper was traced -- traced well, though, mind you! And it's colored extremely well. You're obviously a master of Illustrator. It's just kinda frustrating, not knowing which images you drew yourself and which ones you traced. It'd be great if you actually cited your sources in all your Deviations. I'd really like to know which linearts you drew yourself and which ones come from elsewhere. (Such as the Invid embryo -- did you draw that? Or trace it from some other sources? Very curious.)
